2009 TCAC Emerging Artist Awards

Our second Emerging Artist Awards exhibition for those that are still finding their 'art feet' with two fortunate artists coming away with an arts grant to help further their arts careers.
This concept was developed to bring out our hidden (emerging) Waitakere talent – the ones that have had little or no exposure to the public - and assist them by guiding them through a number of processes they will need to understand as they emerge: applications for awards, competitions, funding – exhibiting – advertising – building databases of buyers, galleries etc.
Our 20 finalists have now been chosen, amongst them will be the recipients of two grants – one for $1000, including a plaque that the artist will hold for one year, and the other for $500. Resene Gift Vouchers will go to all finalists, and two $100 My Canvas vouchers will also be awarded.
Awards and prizes will be presented at a Presentation and Opening Ceremony on Thursday 25th June from 6-8pm. Everyone is welcome!
The exhibition of our 20 Finalists will be open to the public from Friday 26th June until Sunday 19th July.
